Before joining San Diego Sexual Medicine, Mia gained extensive training in general gynecology at Planned Parenthood, where caring for patients with sexual dysfunction drew her into sexual medicine as a specialty. She joined the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health (ISSWSH) and pursued her Menopause Society Certified Practitioner credential to deepen her expertise in midlife hormonal care. Mia has spoken publicly on hormonal contraception, menopause, and sexual health, including a recent podcast appearance discussing the often-overlooked effects of hormonal birth control on desire and sexual function.

Mia studied abroad in Lima, Peru during her undergraduate years and is fluent in Spanish. Her care philosophy emphasizes listening carefully, moving at the patient's pace, and addressing sexual health concerns with the same seriousness and thoroughness as any other area of medicine.
